The chamber music festival "Kammermusikfestival Markgräflerland" will take place for the very first time this year, from July 18th to 22nd - a summer weekend of music in our beautiful home region, the Markgräflerland.

Chamber music is considered the pinnacle of classical music. In no other from can the audience experience the "conversation" between the performers in such an intimate way - a dialogue where each musician brings their own and individual part into a shared interpretation.
That is why it is especially important to us to establish a chamber music festival in our region – a festival that connects the local with the international and aims to inspire new audiences for chamber music.
At our concerts, music will be experienced up close and in a completely new dimension – through a variety of concert formats such as “traditional” chamber concerts, open-air concerts, wine and café concerts and concerts in complete darkness.

This year, the festival’s theme is “a journey through Europe – music in the flow of time and culture”.
We follow the footsteps of composers from different eras whose lives (or whose music) traveled across Europe and its diverse cultures.
In these uncertain times, marked by destruction and war, by the loss of humanity and freedom, we want to invite you on a musical journey where empathy, tolerance and mutual understanding take center stage.
